In addition, Ron has represented corporate trustees (i.e., Banks and Trust companies) in Internal Revenue Service proceedings regarding transferee tax liability and other trust tax issues.
In his estate planning practice Ron represents his clients in the preservation and distribution of family wealth through the use of estate planning strategies and techniques. He engages in complex and sophisticated estate planning matters, which includes the development of estate plans with trusts (revocable living trusts, family trusts, qualified terminal interest trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and domestic asset protection trusts). Ron also represents his clients in disability planning for special needs children and adults through the use of special needs trusts. In addition, as a vital part of wealth preservation Ron, represents individuals with significant financial resources in asset protection planning by utilizing legal techniques that shelter and protect their assets from lawsuits and creditor claims, which is often necessary for clients who are physicians, lawyers, business owners, athletes, entertainers, and other high net worth individuals.
Another aspect of Ron’s law practice is bankruptcy law in which he has substantial experience in bankruptcy matters where he has represented individuals and businesses in Chapter 11 case filings. Specifically, Ron represents partnerships, corporations, and limited liability company debtors who desire to reorganize or restructure their debt under Chapter 11 bankruptcy laws. Also, in Chapter 11 cases, he represents high net-worth individuals, which includes: entertainers, athletes, physicians, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and business owners. Uniquely, as a tax lawyer who is also experienced in bankruptcy law, Ron’s bankruptcy representation of clients is augmented by his combined skills and knowledge of taxation and bankruptcy law which enables him to effectively advise and assist clients in planning for bankruptcy tax litigation with respect to the dischargeability of federal and state taxes in Chapters 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy cases. Overall, in his income tax-debt resolution and bankruptcy law practice, Ron has discharged and compromised millions of dollars for his clients owing back-taxes and interest to the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) and state tax agencies.
